Tim Steele

Florida Underwriting Counsel

As underwriting counsel for Florida, Mr. Steele provides underwriting support to approved attorneys and agents in Florida. He offers insight into Florida law affecting underwriting decisions and contributes to educational seminars for agents. Prior to joining Investors Title, Mr. Steele practiced local government law before transitioning to the private sector where he practiced real estate litigation and served in management positions at various title agencies over the past ten years.

Mr. Steele serves as a board member on the Florida Land Title Charitable Action Foundation and is a proud member of the Florida Land Title Association, serving as a board member for the past six years and as president of the association in 2017.  During his time as FLTA president, he observed increasing fraud, especially wire fraud, in the industry and decided to specialize in this topic, highlighting it at a previous annual FLTA convention and appearing in local newscasts to bring awareness to the issue for both agents and underwriters.

Mr. Steele earned his Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife biology from Arizona State University and his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was admitted to the Florida State Bar in 2006.

In his spare time, he sails on a competitive racing team in Tampa, tells fantastic stories to his young son, and likes to spend time hiking or at the beach.
