Finding and Accessing Resources

Which Resources are available?

“Resources” available are divided into two categories:

  • “Info & docs”such as alerts and bulletins, articles, newsletters, forms, or products and services
  • “Courses” such as on-demand education / CE / CLE or other courses and event registration.

How are Resources retrieved?

Searching: There are four types of search criteria that can be used to locate Resources:

  1. Property State
    • Select one or more states to refine the search results to the topics relevant to the state(s).
    • The property state represents the state in which transaction property may be located or the relevant state for the content, context, or intended audience of the materials.
    • It is not necessarily the state in which you are physically located.
  2. Search Terms

    Terms that are specifically related to the resources you seek (i.e. access, deeds of trust and mortgages, etc.).

    The search for specific terms must be narrowed to either:

    • The title and description of content, or
    • The content itself

    Additional Search Tips:

    • Search for a Phrase > Use the phrase exactly as it would appear in a document (i.e., "Deed of Trust")
    • Search for multiple words > include (+) before words to include (i.e. +access +easement)
    • Use wildcards > * to replace a letter or multiple letters"
  3. Resource Type

    The search for specific terms can be narrowed by one or more Resource Types:

    • Alerts & Bulletins
    • Articles
    • Courses
    • Education & Training
    • Forms
    • Newsletters
    • Products & Services
  4. Topic / Category

    The search for specific terms can be narrowed to one or more Topics / Categories

How do I access search results?

Result Tabs (Info & Docs and Courses):

  • Indicate the number of search results matching the search criteria.
  • Info & docs (i.e., alerts and bulletins, articles, newsletters, forms, or products and services, which represent fliers and other marketing materials)
  • Courses (i.e., on-demand education / CE / CLE and other courses and event registration)

Is a login required to access resources?

How do I create a user account?

Do you already have an account?

  • Accounts have been created for many of our existing customers.
  • If an account was created on your behalf, you should have received a username and password.
  • If you cannot locate your username and password, you can verify whether an account already exists through the "Forgot Password" function.
  • If you do locate an account using the Forgot Password function and your email address, you can create one through the “Create Account”function.

How do I register to view course content?

How do I communicate my license or other member ID number?

You input your license number when you create an account.If your account was created for you, the license number was associated with your account when it was created.

How do I find a course?

Use the search functionality addressed above in the section entitled. "How are Resources retrieved?"

How do I purchase a course? Do I need a PayPal account?

The Resource Center uses PayPal.com to process purchases, which means that the Resource Center does not store any credit card information.

  • You do not need a PayPal.com account.
  • You can used PayPal.com as a "guest."

How do I obtain a refund, if I made an error in course selection?

If you purchase a course in error, please contact the state specific customer service center to request a refund. See "State Specific Questions"

Can I stop viewing a course and start again at my convenience?

You may stop the course and restart it later.If you leave the Resource Center and return, you will be offered an option to resume upon your return.However, you will only be offered this option upon your return.If you decline to resume, you will have to watch the entire video again. Remember, "Fast Forward" is disabled for compliance reasons.",

How long do I have to view the course once I have paid the fee?

Once you have purchased a course, you will have one calendar year to come back and view the course again. However, remember that "Fast Forward" is disabled for compliance reasons.If you complete the course, the next time you return to view the course again, you will not be able to move forward in the video to a particular moment.

How do I obtain credit for the course?

Upon completion of the course (when CLE/CE credit is offered), two things will happen regarding credit:

  • You will receive an email containing at "Completion Certificate" indicating that you have participated in a course and completed the minimum requirements.You can share this with the proper credit awarding authority (i.e. State Bar) if you like.
  • Once a month, we will send notifying the proper credit awarding authority (i.e. State Bar) of all persons that completed courses during the previous month.

When will my course credit be submitted to the appropriate credit awarding authority?

Upon completion of the course (when CLE/CE credit is offered), two things will happen regarding credit:

What if I am a member of multiple organizations but the course is only approved for credit under one organization?

If you desire to receive credit with multiple credit awarding authorities (i.e. State Bars), please contact the appropriate customer service representative for the appropriate state to inquire whether credit is available for multiple credit awarding authorities at the same time. What if I am a member of multiple organizations and the course is approved for credit under both organizations?

If you desire to receive credit with multiple credit awarding authorities (i.e. State Bars), please contact the appropriate customer service representative for the appropriate state to inquire whether credit is available for multiple credit awarding authorities at the same time.
